I want to return to the so-called glory days before the incident that shall furthermore never be spoken of again.
To do this, here are some of my ideas:
-RESTART the forum in general.
-RECRUIT new members.
-REINVIGORATE the Shop and Services.
-REHIRE some more staff.
-RECREATE the atmosphere in general we had before.
-RESTART contests.
-REEVALUATE the potential of a new version, reasonably different from this one, in order to further accomplish the RESTART goal.
Here's my personal plan.
-For recruiting new members, I will be sending out an email to all inactive members every 3 days for the next 30 days. Hopefully I'll either get annoying enough that they'll come back, or they'll ask me to delete their account.
-For reinvigorating the Shop and Services, the Shop is OPEN for REAL business. Name changes are no longer free. However, prices will be adjusted over the coming days to reflect the looseness desired in constant change to the forum. Translation: prices will go down. As far as the services go, I noticed the GFX section is coming back, nicely done guys. The arcade can easily be reincarned; we simply have to start posting. The reviews will be tougher; we might have to edit that somehow.
-For rehiring some staff, this mightily depends on other things. If we get more activity, there will be another mod hired. If we get going again REALLY well, there's a serious chance we could go back to a 2-1-1-1-1-1 structure (2 admins, 1 of everything else). This will mostly be a wait and see sort of thing. However, the first two people up for a mod spot are Winko and Aloe.
-For recreating the atmosphere, perhaps we can have Syfte or someone create a theme or two. Mostly this revolves around regaining lost activity. Also included in this is a loosening of the rules. We're not going to turn into pornhub, but you're also not going to get banned for 4 bumps. Looseness is key here.
-Restarting contests. NFL Predictions will be first in this. Maybe another Survivor Fuji?
-For a new version, a lot of time would go into that, and might include everything listed here. It may be a wintertime project.
So whatcha think? I guess the primary question is go full steam ahead, or do y'all really care? Because if you don't care, here's what we can do:
-I'm still going to send the emails. We'd all like some new people.
-The staff will stay in the 1-1-0-0-0-0 format with one admin and one G Mod. No servicepeople.
Basically that's it.
