Lol, 8-3 after 4 innings. Once we sweep these guys, we'll only be 1 game out. Things are lookin' up. Well they're pitching Verlander tomorrow sooo we're fucked.

Off-topic Niels, and plus, only you would give a shit. So gtfo and let us talk baseball.

My observations from the past week or so:

-Nick Markakis hit his 100th career homer. Good for him. There's been talk he might be the next one after Albert to nail 3000 hits. 27 y/o and already looking at 1100 at the end of this year. Would be the 3rd Oriole to do it.
-I don't remember when the O's have had 3 guys hit 20+ homers in a season. Perhaps the '97 team? I don't know. Anyway, it's nice to have some juice on a team that sorely lacked it last year. Isn't helping us get through the AL East though. Anyone up for throwing the rest of our games to get the #1 pick next year?
-Adam Jones set a new HR career high, good for him as well. He's on pace for 25 or so.
-Reynolds hasn't hit one in 4 days. Uh-oh. His next slump could be through the end of the year, leaving us waiting for next year for a 30+ HR guy. (Btw, Aubrey Huff was the last when he hit .30something/34/110 in '07. He won the Silver Slugger that year too.) ----It's possible our leading hitter this year could hit sub-.290. Not surpising, considering our leading hitter for the first half of the year was sub-.270...
-Reynolds isn't striking out at a rate unsustainable to be a MLB hitter (he's ceded that role to Adam Dunn, and Stubbs is taking his place in the NL. Both have over 150Ks.),
-I swear every other game Derek Jeter is getting 2+ hits. Boy might be headed to 4000.
-Finally someone who isn't Jose Bautista leading the league in HRs. (This time it's Granderson, someone I tabbed as a sleeper this year in drafts but somehow only got on 3 of 8 teams. Oh well, at least I got the sleeper part right.)
-Another Jose, Valverde, has converted 33 straight saves this year (hasn't blown one all year, aka, 33 for 33. And someone was saying in my league that trading for a closer is a risky move when I had Brian Wilson and...Fernando Rodent Rodney? Huh?
-Anyone want to set an over/under for Verlander's number of wins this year? I'm saying 22.
-Good luck picking a "best pitcher of the NL West" this year. Geez. Lincecum, no wins, decent other stats. Cain, more wins, decent stats. Ian Kennedy, 14 wins, ok stats. Daniel Hudson, decent wins and stats. What's up with this division?

Anything I missed?

Btw I can't believe we got 3 off of Verlander in 3 innings and gave up 4. No runs the rest of the game. Santana was robbed of a 2 run homer though. Oh well. Good win tonight against Minnesota.

Hmm let's see the Indians are quite a few games back...in second place and currently in a series with Detroit who is #1 in the AL Central. The score is 10-1 in favor of the Tigers. Towel anyone?

Cardinals should win the WS because they beat 2 teams that had a huge chance to win it all with not much problem (the Phillies did fight them pretty hard, though..but they blew the series.)

Dey suck.

I;ve actually seen the Rangers 3 times. O's beat them twice and tossed BP the one loss. 12-6 win, 15-1 loss, 8-6 win. Also seen a 7-5 O's win over the Stankees and 2-1 win over the Nats.

Yankees have the highest payroll and they can't beat a team with 94 wins who went 2-4 against both the Indians AND the White Sox right after the AS break. The Yankees are, I wouldn't say washed up..but washed up. I don't see how such a team like that could NOT win a title again..guess I was wrongggggggggg~~.

Yes. They were pretty bad but did 2-1 the Tigers after the AS Break. As did the White Sox.

So, I normally shower right after practice. Instead, I took a nap. And when I woke up I remembered, oh shit, I missed the Indians home opener (vs. Toronto). Turns out I didn't. It was still the 9th inning and we were up 4-1. Hardass closer Chris Perez (who has a Jesus/Dave Grohl beard and +1 awesomeness for it) GIVES UP 3 RUNS. fuck. I ended up watching the next 8 innings, in which they didn't even score. They lost 7-4 after 16 full innings. Scored 4 in the second, followed by 14 sequential goose eggs. Nice job
