I had a rather unfortunate experience with water when I was younger. Scarred me for life, you could say. I don't prefer to talk much about it either.

As did I. I was in an undertoe... and I was 12? I think. Maybe 11. But, this was the worst one I'd ever been in. I used all my strength to try and get back but couldn't. I got so far out, that I couldn't see the beach. My friend realized I hadn't been back for a while, and told a lifeguard. He came to get me. I was about to just give up.. it took up all my strength. But I still swim, and love the ocean. I'm not the best swimmer but it's fun.

I love swimming in the ocean. I am 10 minutes away from the beach so it's great. I have a pool...but not one that is deep enough to actually swim.

Damn. That's why I don't go out more than 40-50 feet or so.

I had something similar happen but not that intense.

Yeah. Happened to me on the Gulf back in 07 when I was 11. Now, that sounds lucky, and it was a great trip, but I still can't forget.

I must ask, how do you get caught in a Rip Current in the Gulf Of Mexico? When I went down there in 08 it felt like a lake.

I was on the pan handle and the currents were pretty dangerous, they said. Maybe you weren't in the same area as me
