A serious question, do you prefer the electric period. (So nowdays, that everything has a computer, power and memory cards.) Or the mechanical period. (Back around 100 years ago, when everything had oil, grease and gears.) Which do you think was the better period and why?

Well The Electrical period due to all the advances in Tech and stuff.

However I do believe that we now rely to heavily on electronics and should know how to do stuff without them in the event that they fail.

Basically if you know how to fix a diesel and surf the web, you should do fine.

Do you prefer Windows 1.0 or Windows 7? Todays life is just easier overall.

I prefer the Electrical period. But I do find the history of 100 years or so ago very interesting. Especially since MD was quite active in that time with the railroads and stuff.

I would actually to have prefered to live in the Mech period, I found that it would've been so interseting to see how things were done back in those days.

Rather interesting remark.

Actually, if lived in that time period, it wouldn't be that much interesting, it would be considered everyday life. Just like for us today.

Staff Message: they really shouldn't make these edit-able.

You're right. Except you can edit it only because you're in the GFX designers group.

You do realize you are asking a bunch of computer dorks that are on a forum that was developed on a computer right now if they prefer the electric period? Anyway, I do not see how we can accurately judge both of them since we were not around for the mechanical period.

The reason why I choose Mechinal is because I would like to see how they work. They were very genius designs, some people say better than the electrical period. The electricial period is still great, but Mechinal seems more interesting.

Idk, technology is all well and good. But no global warming, no running-out resources and no atom bombs which can destroy whole countries.
