Hey guys. I have some things going on. Please bear with me and read all of this, I know it is a lot.

Yesterday (Sunday) I was helping my neighbor catch her cat because she was in heat and we didnt want her to get pregnant. Anyways, there was a giant branch covered with tons of leaves, and I slipped on it and dislocated my knee-cap. Now, I have broken both my legs, torn ligaments in my knee, broken all my fingers at least once, my ankle three times and my nose, along with some other bone, and nothing has EVER, EVER hurt like this. It was the worse pain in my life and I wanted to die. On the way to the hospital in the ambulance I thought I WAS dying thats how bad it is. I was taken to the hospital and then a lot happened there. The doctors screwed up on some things, and I have a doctor to report, but that is another story for another day. The point is, my knee cap is back to wear it is supposed to be, but my knee is 10x the size it is supposed to be. I wen to a doctor today, where he took 60cc's of blood out of my knee that was keeping it swollen. There is still a lot in there however. I have to go get an MRI in about 30 minutes. I might be able to come back on tonight but I am not sure. The thing is, my whole leg is deeply supported so that it cant move even an inch, but when they take it out of the slings and bandages for the MRI it will hurt like a bitch. I havent been on because I am highly medicated and I am posting this here to let you know that I will most likely not be on for quite some time. I hope I can come back in about a week and a half to two weeks, but the doctor I went to today, isnt sure because I didnt get the MRI yet, but says he is pretty sure that I will most likely need to get surgery done on my knee. I am super scared. I have never gone under the knife, and my experiences with the hospital and this knee have not been good ones. Ive never been unconscious (under Anastasie) or whatever it is they put you to sleep with, so I dont know how I will react. Anyway, obviously I will not be on the forum, I am very highly medicated and I took advantage of this one hour or so that I am not and dont need to be under many many drugs to post this. I am charging my iPod, so I might be able to come on using that during the day and night, because I cant get out of bed. Dont worry to much about me, I will be back on before I need surgery if it comes to that to let you guys know. As of right now, I will be out of school until next Monday, when I have another doctors visit, and that day they will determine if surgery is needed. If it is, I wont be back to school for a pretty long time and will need to be home-taught. (Its like home schooling only not by my parents, teachers come to my home to teach me). Otherwise, depending on pain, I will be back in school as of later next week. Thanks for reading this, and goodbye for now.

Don't worry, anesthesia doesn't screw you up too bad. But wow, that's a whole lot more than I thought. Hope everything turns out alright. Glad to know you'll be on AIM though :)

Damn, sorry to hear about that. Here is some of the stuff I can tell you from my experiences with fucked up knees:

Please do not let any of this scare you, if it does, I'm sorry, but it's only the truth.

First things first, keep still as hell for that MRI (which I assume is happening as I type this). When I had mine done for my second knee injury, it took an hour because I was twitching.

2. Sue the sonuvabitch who fucked you up at the hospital. I'm fuckin serious here. The reason my knee is fucked is because of a flu shot I had when I was 8. My knee is forever damaged, but the flu shot company isn't paying me for the rest of my life. Make sure this doctor has paid his malpractice insurance.

3. I seriously hope he numbed you up for the drainage procedure today. They hurt like hell, but the pressure relief probably felt a bit better.

4. I am betting you're on Percocet, Vicodin or Dilauted. All 3 work well.

5. You probably have other injuries than just the kneecap. The MRI will tell for sure, but my guess is you tore at least the ACL and possibly one or more of the MCL, PCL or LCL.

6. If #5 is in any way true, the chances of surgery are high. The type and invasiveness of the surgery depends on the injury though.

7. If you do have surgery, be sure to ask if it will be done arthroscopically. This hurts a lot less afterwards.

8. Here's something reassuring. I've had 3 surgeries, one on my knee and 2 on my face. The scariest part for me is the IV. Ask for some sort of anti-anxiety drug if you're really nervous. Waking up, you will be drowsy. VERY drowsy. In fact, depending on the type and anesthesia required, you may not remember some stuff immediately after the surgery. This is COMPLETELY NORMAL.

9. Anesthesia does stay in your bloodstream for a while. I was a little unstable for 4 days following my nose surgery, where I was under anesthesia for nearly 4 hours. Don't do too much after surgery. Get everything you might want/need set up before surgery and have it ready to go for when you get home.

10. Enjoy the time off from school, if possible.

Wow Bam I am so sorry. Feel better, and I hope everything goes well from here on out. Doctors mess up sometimes, they have so much stress doing this stuff, but Im sorry it had to happen to you.
I havent had any surgeries either, so I cant offer any advice, other than to take anti-anxiety drugs if youre scared.

The actual MRI isn't bad, but the position they might make her put her leg in... (I.e. straight out) could be painful as shit.

SUCKS. HOPE YOU GET BETTER. IVE NEVER BROKEN ANYTHING SO I WOULDNT KNOW WHAT YOURE GOING THROUGH.

Update: just got a call... Def need surgery. Appointment next monday to get all the info I'll let you guys know when I find everything out.

Wow Bam, sorry to hear that.

Make sure those doctors wash there hands every time they come to check on you though, not joking, as you don't want to get sick on top of this.
