Uh. I bet 98% of Pakistan doesn't know this hurricane exists. They were knocked around by something totally different.

Exactly.
And as for us, we're going to see the extreme outer bands from it. Highest gusts around here might be 30 mph. |

| You are one sad little kid, one day you'll mature and understand it's a part of nature, and there's nothing I can do about it, so I have no reason to be concerned. |

| Nah, since I'm west of I-95, I'm going to see a grand total of a few showers and 20-mph winds. We hav 20-mph winds on a clear day. Cy on the other hand is looking at 40-mph winds and heavy rain. BUt I don't think there's been any evac orders for OC.
Cape Hatteras is having 40-mph winds with 70-mph gusts as I speak. Brutal.
And Mega, if you think this little swideswipe of a hurricane will be that bad, I hope to god you never go through an Isabel or an Agnes or a Hugo. All three were direct hits on me/my parents. I wasn't alive for Agnes or Hugo, but I vividly remember the 70+ mph winds with a Category 2 hurricane Isabel. Not to mention the 100+ mph gusts. Agnes packed only 40 mph winds, but the flooding was devastating. And I'm talking about inland. On the little sandbar known as Long Island, an Agnes or an Isabel or a Hugo (Category 1 storm) would turn that sandbar into a coral reef. Thank god you haven't been hit by one of them.
This could be a lot worse. A LOT worse. We're getting spared, relatively speaking.
Also, I agree with Cy. There ain't shit I can do about a hurricane except watch and wait. That's why I got excited when I thought we might see some decent air movement.

| I agree on Mega about how dangerous a hurricane is, it is unpredictable, so watch out. |

| It's not as unpredictable as you would think. The average error in one-day forecast tracks for hurricanes by the National Weather Service is under 50-miles. |

Not arguing with you, but take the Darwin cyclone in 1974, it turned around to hit Darwin. Every cyclone/hurricane is unpredictable. |

| ONe time event. But whatever, the important part about this particular hurricane is there has been no loss of life so far. |
