Yeah, then it would just go with the lowering economic health. Perhaps yes, it may take more time to regain prosperity, but I don't think it would send us back to the Depression.

I think it will result in the general public trusting the government less than they do. Which is pretty fucking low as we see it already. More distrust will cause a harder cycle...
