An Appreciation For Life
Constant contemplations of … pain and anguish
He’s mentally and physically unable to stand it
He’s unceasingly upset; checks his phone – zero messages
It’s impossible to match the exact amount of distress of his
He ponders perpetually, on the act of suicide
But thoughts are simply thoughts, he never actually tried
He got a call from the hospital – he had to make an appointment
Not his average trip, not for his ordinary ointment
The doctor divulged in him: his cessation’s around the corner
He started hopin’ stopped mopin’, ceased to be a mourner
With only two weeks left to live, he lived his life on the edge
The end of his suffers and sorrows, because he’d soon be dead
The two weeks had passed fast, but he continued his breathin’
The conclusion he’d been receivin’ was apparently deceivin’
The doctor was newly employed; he’d given a false diagnosis
He was wrong all along, the man didn’t have asbestosis
These two weeks of worry gave him a new look on things
He’d decided to take on life, enduring everything it brings
Jigsaw’s right, we need a close encounter to death
To have an appreciation for life, and ignore all those depressed
