Here is my definition(honest): Time is the illusion of the human mind. It is something humans created to organize chaos. |

| I have chosen two winners: | Invisifly2 wrote: | time is the fourth demision.
we live in four diminsions, left & right, up & down, back & forth, and time. inorder to do anything in these diminsions one must travel through time.
According to ein (no the other one) time slows down with increases of speed or gravity, so in the center of a black hole, where the graventational force is infinate, time comes to a halt.
It is possible to travel through time, we do it everyday, however no-one has been able to travel backwards in time so far, although the laws of phisics do not rule it out. Traveling backwards in time though may cause paradox's or closed time loops that currently do not obay any logic or laws so far known to govern the universe, so the effects of doing so may be harmless or catastrophic.
Time had a beggining, the big bang, so the big question is "does it have an end?" hopefully its like a ray, with a starting point but no end, although some scientest say it might be more like a segment, with a beggining and end. but what happend before the big bang if thier was no time and nothing could happen without it? Mabie matter just said STFU time im makin a universe (matter = god?)
You can slow down your passage through time easily, by going really fucking fast. a person who fly's in a jet for an hour is actually a few fractions of a nanosecond younger than somebody who was born on the same nanosecond on the same day on the same date, if he stayed on the ground for the same hour.
this makes it possible for a twin born first to be younger than his twin born last. o_O This is known as the twin paradox, and thier is actually at least one real life example, but you can google that.
trying to figure out all the reasoning or logic behind time may cause your head to explode. (luls i just made that up...OR DID I *dun dun duuuun*)
if you order a turkey sandwich, wait 24 hours, then travel back in time 24 hours to the same time and place, and tell past you to order ham instead, then leave, past you will order turkey because if he did not you would not of come back to tell him to eat ham, so inorder for you to of been thier, he must of gotten turkey, this is how the universe might prevent paradox's from happaning.

| Sherlip wrote: | Time is, itself, just a single variable. It represents the continuity between space. Time is always represented by T. T can not be added, subtracted, divided, multiplied or negated. There is no nth root to time, nor any nth power, nor any other base or logarithm. Trigonometry will not do justice, and don't try sequences and series. dT/dx is a constant, but it is not 1, 2, 1,675, e, or pi. Time is its own integral as time is its own derivative. The area under the graph is just as infinite as time itself. Time will not change rate, for Time is rate. Time is the only variable that cannot be solved.
Take a movie, for instance. A movie, in retrospect, is made up of an infinite number of pictures. Without time, there would be no way for any of those infinite pictures to coincide with each other.
Throwing time into the equation, we can now link those pictures together. Taking those still frames and adding (or to put in mathematical terms, multiplying) the variable of time shows us exactly how things happen.
5+6 isn't the same as 5t+6. The first can be evaluated, whereas the second is dependent on time.
Time allows things to happen. If we didn't have time, I would be 16 years, 4 months, and 19 days forever.
Time is the crossover between Science, Math, Philosophy, English, and History.
Though unimportant as a variable, it is the most important piece of life. All verbs exist when time is present. And though we may not realize how large an encomium we pay towards it, we reference time every day.
It is not visible, it has no start and end, and cannot be measured, for time is only relative. We measure only reference points by using clocks or watches.
If it weren't for time, we wouldn't know what time is. That might be true for everything else, but time has given us progression.
Time is as easy to explain as color. There is no way to express it. One must experience it. Time is every cause, every effect, every disease, every cure, every question, and every answer.
One cannot stop time. One cannot speed up time (As much as scientists would like to believe).
If one did manage to pause time, time would still elapse (just as a subroutine of a larger section of time located in another dimension)
All in all, time is the puzzle that has no solution. The 100,000,000,000 piece jigsaw puzzle with every piece the same shape and color. Time has and will go on forever. (And yes, I believe that time did exist before the big bang, as time is NOT based off of matter.) |
