I guess it depends on the country. Half of Americans don't know what the World Cup is. |

2008 Super Bowl was watched by 148.3 MILLION viewers worldwide, with 97 million in the U.S. World Cup, 260 million worldwide, but that's over 32 teams' games. Super Bowl is 2 teams, one game. World Cup is at least 16 games, and probly more like 100. Being conservative and going with 50 games, there is approximately 5 million viewers by game. Hence, Super Bowl wins by a large margin. |

| Yes, there is. We were debating over Bloon's statement: "The FIFA World Cup is the biggest and BEST sporting event in the world!". You said that the summer olympics is. Bloon then said that The FIFA World Cup is the most watched sporting event in the world. If it is the most watched, then the most amount of people like it/are interested in it. This makes it statistically the best sporting event in the world, because that's what most of the world says. It's kind of like politics. May the best man win. (That obviously didn't happen with George Bush, but fuck it, you know what I mean). By the way, I'm not comparing sports with politics because that would just be...wrong. And for Ein: | Google wrote: | "The following table is cited from an article in the Media Guardian on Dec 23, 2004, titled "Euro final tops TV sports league":
1. Football: Euro 2004 final Portugal v Greece 153 million 2. Olympic Games: opening ceremony 127 million 3. Olympic Games: closing ceremony 96 million 4. American football: Super Bowl 95 million 5. Olympic Games: men's 100m metres 87 million 6. Olympic Games: men's 200m freestyle swimming 66 million 7. Formula one: Monaco grand prix 59 million 8. Football: Champions League final Porto v Monaco 56 million 9. Basketball: NBA finals 25 million 10.= Tennis: Wimbledon women's singles final 21 million 10.= Tennis: Wimbledon men's singles final 21 million 12. Cycling: Tour de France final stage 16 million 13.= Football: FA Cup final Millwall v Man Utd 9 million 13.= Horseracing: Grand National 9 million 15. Rowing: University Boat Race 5 million" |
| Google also wrote: | The most watched sporting event in the world is football (European Football). To give you an idea of how popular it is, the 2006 world cup final drew 716 million viewers. While the whole tournament attracted 30+ billion non-unique viewers |
Suck it.
